Description
“Glen of Ghosts” – Original Painting, Acrylic on Canvas
Glencoe, Highlands of Scotland
On February 13th, 1692, members of the Clan MacDonald were massacred in their homes by government forces they had given their hospitality to. Although they had pledged allegiance to the monarchy following the Jacobite Rising of 1689, word did not reach the officials until after the required deadline, and so their deaths at Glencoe were ordered. Today, the place retains an atmosphere, a moodiness; it is as though the land remembers what happened there.
6″ x 8″, unframed
